And the Doubt Creeps In...

Strike 1 against "The Hunger Games"- Taylor Swift is going to be on the soundtrack. I am seriously starting to doubt this film...please just don't have anything as putrid as Taylor in the actual film. I am begging you.

2012.

It's a new year! Rather than bore you with my New Years Resolutions, lets just take a look at a few of things I am looking forward to this year...

1. " The Dark Knight Rises"July. This final installment from Christopher Nolan promises to be epic. I could watch this trailer over and over and my excitement would not wane. I simply cannot wait.

2. "The Hobbit" December. My favorite out of all of the Lord of the Rings books. Just watch the trailer and get ecstatic. 

3."The Hunger Games" March. I wasn't super excited about the movie, but after just rereading Hunger Games and Mockingjay I am beyond excited. Please don't let me down...

4. "The Woman in Black" February. I love a good suspense movie and this just looks creepy. Plus it will be interesting to see Daniel Radcliffe in some other role besides Harry Potter. 

Yes, my list of highly anticipated events for the year are all movies. What can I say my life is exciting. I will do my best to track down some exciting adventures to share. 2012 will not be a bust, I promise.

My Favorite Art Form

There is something about travelling and seeing new places that does something to my soul. It's not just the excitement of being out of your element, the independence, or the people you meet. There is so much more to it. 

"I sometimes think, how is anyone ever gonna come up with a book, or a painting, or a symphony, or a sculpture that can compete with a great city. You can't. Because you look around and every street, every boulevard, is its own special art form..."  - "Midnight in Paris"

Each street you walk down speaks to you. Each monument you pass embodies the heart of the city and the people who shaped it. The tinkling of music coming out of shops or the pounding bass from the cars that pass by, the city is a culmination of every kind of art. Just as a great piece of literature captivates you in its beauty, and entices you to be bolder and think grander, a city does the same thing on a much larger scale. Every place I have visited has changed how I perceive the world, and has opened my eyes to what is truly lovely about existence, because that is what art does. It speaks to your soul and makes you hunger for more. Embracing a new city is definitely my favorite way to experience the magic of art.
