Living the High Life

I made it. 16+ hours of traveling halfway around the world and I am in Prague. I thought I would be nervous as I sat and waited for my plane to depart the San Francisco Airport, but really I was just tired, anxious and couldn't wait to get into my cramped little seat on the airplane for the 10 hour flight to Amsterdam. I have had a cold and a nasty cough that makes me sound like a monster is trying to escape from my chest. I was a little worried that if I was trying to cough up said little monster as I was boarding an international flight there might be some issues, so I wanted to get on the plane as soon as possible. Finally the time came to board, and can I tell you the most magical words I heard that day- "Miss, business class is this way". Say what? Yeah I was flying business class and had no idea until I was literally walling onto the tarmac. Business class was like heaven. They serve you drinks in super awesome glasses, not plastic cups-glasses, before the plane even leaves! If I drank alcohol that flight would have been a little crazy, who knew business class got so much free champagne and wine. But it is not the constant drinks or the multiple meals and snacks that made the flight so wonderful, it was my huge reclining seat with foot rest that made me as giddy as a school girl. I can not believe that people fly like this all the time, imagine what first class is like! As soon as dinner was over I was fully reclined and sleeping like a baby until I was awakened by the flight attendant for my breakfast-apple french toast. Superb.

When I finally landed in Prague, I gathered my things and set out to find my ride. I am sorry to disappoint all those that were so looking forward to a picture of my driver standing there with my name on a sign, but seriously there were so many people standing outside the arrival area that it took me forever just to find him. When I did find him, I found he spoke absolutely no English which made me very happy the car ride to the house was only 15 minutes.

I had gotten the address of the home before and decided to Googlemap it and check out the digs. Google, returned a very modest but nice home.Thank you Google for being incorrect, because driving up to the house for the first time was amazing. I felt like Fraulein Maria the first time she seems the Von Trapp family home, I was in awe. The home is massive, and the land around it is just as beautiful and impressive. And then there is the view of the Prague from the front of the house which is incredible. The house sits up on a hill about 15 minutes from the center of Prague, and you can see the entire city from any room in the front of the house. The house is very sleek, modren, and VERY technology driven. It has an indoor pool with whatever those intense jets are that create a current so you can just swim forever, a sauna and hot tub, a TV room and a separate cinema room with a larger than life projection screen. [I will have to take some pictures of the view at least, but my rechargeable batteries do not want to charge, and I want to save any juice they have left on taking pictures of other things. ]

Everything thus far has been beyond what I imagined. Each morning as as I enjoy my breakfast, I stare out the wall to wall windows  taking in the expansive view of Prague and think, I am so lucky to be here. Everything about this job/opportunity is amazing, and I feel like I am being spoiled. I have tasted a bit of the High Life and I am loving every minute of it.
