The Hills are Alive....

My week and a half journey has come to an end and I have a million memories all combating each other for the chance to be shared. I could talk for days about the little moments, the mishaps, the amazing people I met, the buildings and scenery, and the lasting impact this experience has had on me. But time is too precious to spend days reliving the past, so a brief recap will have to suffice.

Memorable Moments in Salzburg:

- Wandering the city for 4 hours in the dark trying to find a hostel or hotel with an open bed
- Singing along to Do-Re-Mi in a bus full of tourists as we drove through the Austrian hills
- Having a swan try to attack me while I had my picture taken. Don't turn your back on those guys...
- Visiting Sound of Music attractions (Von Trapp house, the Gazebo, the church where Fraulein and the Captain got married, the abbey, Do-Re-Mi steps, and so many more)
- Chatting with a German guy who was very persistent about having a conversation, when he only spoke German and I only spoke English. Very interesting.
- Having the Untersburg greet me in all its glory as I stepped off the train at dusk
- Random guy on bus who stopped and helped me when he saw me staring at my map in confusion
- Laughing so hard on the Sound of Music tour I thought my cheeks would split
- Sitting on the banks of Lake Mondsee and enjoying the most delicious streusel ever
- Being followed around Mondsee by this British guy who didn't get social cues, and hearing all about his allergies and his girlfriends mental illness
- Listening to 'I have Confidence' and having it be totally relatable
- Visiting Mirabel Gardens- so beautiful
- Dancing outside the Sound of Music Gazebo
- Chatting with my awesome Korean bunkmate about our travels and plans
- The view of the city from the top of the Hotel Stein
- Seeing posters trying to make lederhosen and traditional Austrian clothes sexy
-Watching people mimic a cardboard stand up of Mozart, but putting their hands a tad bit too low and making it look like they are commenting on something else entirely.
